Popfrenzy are thrilled to welcome Eleanor Friedberger back to Australia. The ex-Fiery Furnaces singer/songwriter was last seen here in 2012 playing headline shows at the Sydney Festival's Spiegeltent in addition to a special performance at Brisbane's Gallery of Modern Art.

After the release of her sophomore album, Personal Record in 2013, Friedberger filled time with creative projects outside of touring and recording. Collaborating with Popfrenzy familiars, Dean Wareheim (Luna/ Galaxie 500) and Bradford Cox (Deerhunter / Atlas Sound) Friedberger scored music to unseen Andy Warhol footage to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the museum dedicated to the Pop Art icon. She also performed with the 8G Band numerous times on the Late Night with Seth Meyers show. In 2016, she moves forward as a solo musician with her newly released third album, New View.

After the decade long attachment with The Fiery Furnaces and having relocated from Brooklyn to upstate New York, New View represents the awareness and acceptance of change in Friedberger's life. Simple arrangements and non-fussy melodies make for a wonderfully boyant album, dotted with noisey, emotionally direct deviations. It proves the limitlessness creativity of Friedberger, the exciting and uplifting record relays wit and poise with ease. Lyrically, New View communicates reflections of internal trauma, intimate, experiential monologues relayed by a woman that is doing just fine, in retrospect.

Her upcoming Australian shows in June will no doubt be rewarding for fans of the seasoned musician gained over her lengthy career.
