WOMADelaide's Celebrating The Big 25 With Homegrown Aussie Acts And International Exclusives!
If you haven't experienced WOMADelaide yet, then 2017 is the year to do it! The festival celebrates its 25th anniversary, and is just TWO WEEKS away from kicking off.
The diversity of the festival is what really sells it (it's not called "The World's Festival" for nothing!). You've got a stellar lineup of artists from all over the world who are performing exclusively at WOMADelaide 2017 - from the brainchild of two-time Grammy award-winning guitarists, Bokanté (USA/Guadeloupe), and traditional music, Hanoi Masters (Vietnam), to all things modern, Inna Modja (Mali).
While there are so many new artists for you to discover from across the Globe, there's heaps of outstanding home-grown Australian artists to get down and boogie to as well! 2016 ARIA Award winner Montaigne and Darwin's soulful singer-songwriter Caiti Baker will tear up the stage, along with A.B. Original, D.D. Dumbo, Dope Lemon, L-FRESH the Lion, The Waifs & William Crighton - just to name a few!
Have a listen to the Spotify playlist to get warmed up!
While you're enjoying tunes from all these amazing artists, don't forget about the truckloads of other activities going on - catch a cooking presentation with some of the festival's biggest stars as they teach you about cuisine from their homeland at Taste The World, introduce your palate to a huge selection of international cuisines at Global Village, and explore Adelaide's independent design and making scene at WoMade.
