Earlier this year Weezer — the best band in the world — covered Toto’s ‘Africa’ — the best song in the world, and now it’s going to be released on vinyl.

The vinyl will be released as a limited edition 7? and will feature covers of both Toto’s ‘Africa’ and ‘Roseanna’. It’ll be up for grabs on August 31st through Urban Outfitters. This has officially risen the band to the highest echelons of meme culture. Personally, I couldn’t be more stoked about it.

The cover happened after a viral fan-led campaign. The campaign saw a fourteen-year-old create the twitter account @WeezerAfrica, and tweet Rivers Cuomo, challenging him to take on the Toto classic. The cover went on the be Weezer’s highest charting single of the past decade.

The band originally trolled fans by releasing a cover of Roseanna, a lesser known Toto song.

The band recently performed ‘Africa’ on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Oh and, Toto’s keyboardist Steve Porcaro, joined them.
