Tumbleweed will be playing their debut album in full on their upcoming tour
December of 1992 saw a bunch of long-haired larrikins channel their collective musical influences into one timeless classic record which has inspired countless Aussie bands since. That band was Tumbleweed, and that album was their self-titled debut. Now, almost 26 years on, the band are set to play the album in full on their upcoming tour.
Having formed back in 1990, Tumbleweed quickly rose to the top of the Aussie alt-rock scene, releasing classic tracks ‘Captains Log’ and ‘Stoned’, and even supporting Nirvana on their sole Aussie tour – all this before releasing their debut album.
Now, following on from a successful Record Store Day which saw the band reissue their debut album, along with a 7? single of classic single ‘Daddy Long Legs’, the band are hitting the road once again, this time delivering fans a rare opportunity to hear all the tracks from this seminal debut performed in order – just the way it was intended.
Yes, this July will see Tumbleweed hitting the road for a series of rare headline shows, hitting up Western Australia, Queensland, South Australia, and New South Wales before wrapping up with a set at Melbourne’s Croxton Bandroom on July 28th.
Supported by a litany of brilliant Aussie acts at each of the shows, including Even, The Electric Guitars, and Screamfeeder, just to name a few, these shows are undoubtedly set to give you one of the greatest educations in Aussie rock that you’ll ever see.
Tickets to all shows are on sale now through Oztix, and if vinyl is your thing, there are still a limited number of copies of the group’s self-titled album, as well as their ‘Daddy Long Legs’ single, available to purchase through Farmer And The Owl. But be quick, because these won’t hang around for too much longer!
