There’s a sausage sizzle eating competition happening in Sydney this weekend

Camperdown’s Alfred Hotel is hosting a sausage sizzle eating competition this Saturday, this is the only sausage-fest we’ll ever get behind.

Entry is free, you just need to RSVP so they know how many snags will be hitting the barbie.

The rules are simple, and as followed:

  • Competitors will have exactly three minutes to slam as many sausages down their throat as possible.

  •  Sanga specifications are: Sausage in bread (bread unspecified, but we’re putting our bets on a classic tip-top white slice, perhaps a wonder white), your choice of condiment (Tomato, BBQ or Mustard). Unfortunately, it looks like caramelized onions won’t be provided, beggars can’t be choosers.

  • Dunking of Sausage and Bread in water is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification.

And the winner of this inaugural competition will score themselves a $150 bar tab and a hectic trophy. This is one for the mantlepiece.

Whilst we’re on the topic of sausages, let us reflect on the time cane toad sausages were dropped from the sky.
