The first artist lineup for BIGSOUND 2018 is finally here
In May this year, BIGSOUND announced its first round of speakers and forums, including a very special keynote speech from Dave Grohl’s mum.
Now, the initial lineup of artists who are set to take over Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley in September have been announced. The lineup, where you’re pretty much guaranteed to discover your new favourite artist features 75 of Australia’s best up and coming live acts from a wide variety of genres.
Holding it down for Australia’s flourishing heavy music scene is Eat Your Heart Out, Arteries and Sleep Talk, with Kwame showcasing our burgeoning hip hop scene and songwriters Gabriella Cohen, Rachel Maria Cox and more showcasing wealth of talent bubbling in the country.
“The amount of BIGSOUND applications this year smashed last year’s record by another 70 to make up approximately 1,133 applications. That’s a lot of talent. Punters wanting to own the fact that “they discovered an artist first”, better get themselves across this massive list of acts, who are on the cusp of exploding worldwide.” said BIGSOUND programmer Maggie Collins.
Previous BIGSOUND performers have included Stella Donnelly, Alex Layhey and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, who’ve all gone on to achieve massive heights in the last few years.
