Ted Nugent defends Roseanne Barr’s racist Twitter tirade
Earlier this week Roseanne Barr’s recently revived TV series Roseanne was cancelled after the comedian went on a racist Twitter tirade against Barack Obama’s former senior adviser Valerie Jarrett.
“Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj,” she said in a now-deleted tweet.
Now, classic rock’s most outspoken conservative has jumped to her support, defending Barr’s tweets, failing to understand why referencing the movie Planet Of The Apes would be racist.
“So Roseanne referencing a movie title is racist,” he tweeted. “Lying dishonest soulless freaks from Planet of the Apes.”

Twitter users quickly jumped to criticise Nugent, noting that he’s now become more well known for his distasteful political stances than his music.

Poor Ted…too insignificant to have anything cancelled.

She works for a company, it’s their right to fire her or not based on the employees actions.

Despite jumping to Barr’s support, Nugent vowed in June last year to stop engaging in “hateful rhetoric”. He first broke that self-imposed rule in March, saying that campaigns imposed after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland were calling for stricter gun laws were “mushy-brained” and “soulless.”
“All you have to do now is not only feel sorry for the liars, but you have to go against them and pray to God that the lies can be crushed and the liars can be silenced so that real measures can be put into place to actually save children’s lives,” said Nugent.
