Sydney is getting a handy cupcake ATM later this month

Ever since the humble ATM was invented a number of decades ago, they have rarely been filled with much else than money. Don’t get us wrong, money’s great and all, but what if your local ATM dispensed some tasty baked goods rather than cash? Well, Sydneysiders are about to enjoy this very fantasy.
As Broadsheet reports, Sparkle Cupcakery is set to supply the goods for a cupcake ATM that will take over Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens later this month for Vivid Sydney.
All you have to do is locate the appropriately-coloured machine at the end of the light walk in the Royal Botanic Gardens during Vivid Sydney, put down your cash, and soon you’ll be choosing between red velvet and chocolate banana-flavoured cupcakes.
The man behind the idea, Michael Watson of Wats On Events, explains that the cupcakes will be topped with “icing inspired by the milky way”.
“It’s most definitely delivering a wow factor to the end of the light walk,” Watson explains.
Vivid Sydney is set to take place from May 25th until June 16th, so make sure you pick up a cupcake if you find yourself near the Royal Botanic Gardens.
