Scratch-and-sniff postage stamps are coming next month

If you are the type to order incessantly from Amazon, soon your packages may have a pleasing smell far removed from whatever weird balm you ordered.

The U.S. Postal Service are introducing the first-ever series of scratch-and-sniff stamps.

Despite Smells From The Civil War being a more historical theme, they have opted to replicate the scents of “ice pops” and with it elicit memories of summer breezes and fruit-scented treats: kiwi, watermelon, blueberries, oranges, strawberries, snozzberries, etc. There will be twenty varieties.

“Americans love cool, refreshing ice pops on a hot summer day”, a statement from the Postal Service reads. “The tasty, sweet confections come in a variety of shapes and flavors.”

They then go on to explain what an ice pop is, despite the previous claim of these sweet treats being a ubiquitous American treat.

“Ice pops are made by large manufacturers, home cooks and artisanal shops. In recent years, frozen treats containing fresh fruit such as kiwi, watermelon, blueberries, oranges and strawberries have become more common. In addition, flavors such as chocolate, root beer and cola are also popular. Some frozen treats even have two sticks, making them perfect for sharing.”

Frozen Treats Forever stamps will hit mailboxes on June 20.
