‘Rugrats’ is coming back with new shows and a movie
“In my days, all we did was throw rocks at each other. Big bag of dirt clods- that’s what the kids want.”
Rugrats sentiments from Grandpa Lou, Chuckie, Angelica and Tommy Pickles are returning to our small and big screens.
24-years since it left our hearts and television, Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures have announced 26 Rugrats episodes are on their way. While a release date is still to be announced, the network and studio have revealed a live-action Rugrats movie is premiering on November 13, 2020, complete with CGI characters.
The TV series will be executive produced by Rugrats‘ original creators Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó and Paul Germain. Meanwhile, the movie will be written by David Goodman (Futurama, Family Guy, Star Trek: Enterprise).
Brian Robbins, president of Paramount Players, said: “Now feels like the ideal time to reintroduce this iconic cast of characters to a whole new generation of young fans. Kids who grew up with Tommy Pickles and the Rugrats crew will now be able to share that experience with their own children.”
