Max Watt’s inks Australian-first deal with 8th Day Sound [EXCLUSIVE]
Max Watt’s, the live music venues group with locations in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, has inked an Australian-first partnership to install a PA system which has the ability to cover arenas and stadiums.
Through an agreement with global audio equipment company 8th Day Sound, Max Watt’s is set to install the Adamson S10 PA System at Max Watt’s Sydney. 8th Day Sound’s work includes installation for concerts by Rihanna, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga.
With the ability to offer bands an unprecedented sound in a room its size, the permanent installation at Max Watt’s Sydney will be the country’s first permanent venue install with this particular system.
Damien Pryor of 8th Day Sound said:
“The Adamson S10 System has been in the 8th Day Sound inventory for around 18 months and has been growing in popularity around Australia,” Pryor said. “This is 8th Day’s first permanent venue install with the Adamson S10 System and we are confident the new PA will make Max Watt’s one of Sydney’s go-to venues.”
The partnership with 8th Day Sound has already seen the system utilised through the venue, providing support to sold out shows from artists such as REMI, Illenium and What So Not. Max Watt’s has said it’s already had several enquires for production rehearsals from Hockey Dad, Dean Lewis and Muto, as well as The Rubens who are currently touring the country supporting P!nk.
Nathan Farrell of Calibre Artist Management and Nathan Farrell Entertainment (360, Thundamentals) took over the bookings exclusively for Max Watt’s Sydney in July 2017. Farrell said the PA installation will push things forward for Max Watt’s.
“Over the last 12 months it’s been a pleasure working with the Max Watt’s team to deliver not only a higher quantity, but higher quality of shows to the venue for the likes of; Cigarettes After Sex, George Clinton, The Black Angels, Autechre, Thundamentals and 360,” said Farrell. “This PA expansion is going to push things forward for Max Watt’s to be one of the most versatile venues in Sydney for its capacity. We look forward to placing plenty more local and international talent at the venue”.
The announcement of the partnership coincides with the addition of Friends Like Us and The Glass Collective moving in-house to assist with publicity and social media. Friends Like Us specialises in PR and management, working with acts like Chasing Ghosts and Foxblood. Meanwhile, The Glass Collective specialises in content creation and social media, and includes Deliveroo and The Black Rabbit in Melbourne among its list if clients.
