How Fortnite players can enter Ninja’s huge new tournament with Red Bull

The world’s favourite game Fortnite just keeps picking up steam, with the announcement overnight that Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins is partnering with energy drink maker and sports enthusiasts Red Bull to kick off a big tournament next month.

One of the biggest names in the game, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins announced the ‘Red Bull Rise Till Dawn’ competition on his regular live stream, while also telling of his endorsement deal with Red Bull – one that makes him one of only a small handful of professional esports players on Red Bull’s roster.

But how can you get into this prestigious event, I hear you ask? You’d better jump on it quickly because, like any tournament, spots are limited. Also, you’ll need to be over 18, and able to travel to Chicago to head to the very top of the Willis Tower on July 21.

And you’ll need to bring a friend too, as it’s a duos tournament, meaning that 50 teams will be going at it in any one match – all vying for as many points as they can possibly grab in the event’s unique scoring system, and hoping to win the grand prize of $2,250.

The tournament will start as soon as the sun sets at 8:21 PM and continue throughout the night,” Red Bull explains, “as teams battle to accumulate the most points possible before the sun rises over Lake Michigan at 5:35 AM.

The prize money may not be massive, but Fortnite fans are still seriously keen to get involved, and the tickets to spectate sold out in a few hours flat. Any fans who missed out will still be able to catch a live stream of the contest on – where else – Ninja’s channel.

Aspiring champions on the other hand  can head to the event’s website to check out all of the rules and register their interest.

Meanwhile, Nintendo fans are celebrating the surprise release of Fortnite for Switch at E3 this past week, which lets us all compete against Xbox and PC players from the comfort of our beds – definitely more our pace.
