Here’s the 80s pop remix of ‘Sugar, We’re Goin Down’ you never knew you needed
Every so often, a musical nugget comes along so epic you totally forget what life was like before your ears were graced with its perfection. Considering we can’t remember what life was like before listening to Fall Out Boy (as a slightly aged emo, this would’ve been a good 14 years ago), this new remix of ‘Sugar, We’re Goin Down’ has us feeling a multitude of emotions.
YouTuber Johan Olsson has graced us with an 80s pop inspired remix of the 2005 classic ‘Sugar, We’re Goin Down’. Fall Out Boy have constantly shifted their sound and experimented – there’s no secret the band are massive fans of pop music in all forms so there’s a reason ‘Sugar’ sits so well in the remix.
Olsson has drenched the track in 80s-style synths, sentimental keys and shredding lead guitars pretty much stripping it of its fully emo veneer – and it works like a damn charm.

The band are currently gearing up to perform at 2018’s massive Reading & Leeds festival alongside Panic!, Dua Lipa, Waterparks and more, where they’ll be conquering their second headline slot at the iconic event.
After that, they’ll be continuing to embark on the next US leg of the huge MANIA tour with Machine Gun Kelly and Gym Class Heroes.
