Hello? Is it "Meat" You're Looking For?
Don't deny it, you just sang the title to the tune of Lionel Richie, didn't you?! We've told you about the meat-y goodness waiting for you this January and February in Sydney & Melbourne... But we've just gotten a meat-tacular update about a special guest appearing at the 2016 Yak Ales Barbecue Festival!
Recently announced, World Champion and highly respected pitmaster Chris Lilly, is coming all the way from his home in the U.S. of A. to cook you up some of his lip-smackin' finger-lickin' award-winnin' Alabama barbecue. He'll also be running free, live cooking demonstrations. If you're looking to eat some serious Southern barbecue without having to make the trip, you surely can't get anything more authentic in your own hometown!
In case you need a refresher on what the full barbecue experience entails, the Yak Ales Barbecue Festival will feature:
- Barbecue food stalls including some of the city's finest pitmasters
- Barbecue cooking demonstrations by local & international barbecue experts
- Showcases on the latest & greatest barbecue products available
- Live entertainment & DJs
And if you're really REALLY into competitive barbecuing just like special guest Chris Lilly with all of his awards (the owner of world famous Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q is no joke!), then make sure to enter your team for the KCBS (Kansas City Barbecue Society) sanctioned contest. The grand champion of the cook-off will be invited to represent Australia at internationally renowned barbecue contests in the United States!
