Grunge legend Mark Lanegan has announced an Aussie tour
One of grunge’s most famous names, Mark Lanegan, has today announced that he’ll be heading back to Australia later this year for a headline tour, performing in support of his latest solo album.
Mark Lanegan first entered the world of music back in 1984, forming the rock band Screaming Trees, who would go on to become one of the founding fathers of grunge music, and even scored a spot in the inaugural Hottest 100 countdown, hitting #64 with ‘Nearly Lost You’ in 1993.
Since the start of the ’90s, Lanegan has been curating a critically-acclaimed solo career, in addition to performing and collaborating with a number of huge names, including Queens Of The Stone Age, Mad Season, and even recording an unreleased album with Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain.
Now, following the release of his tenth studio album, Gargoyle, in 2017, Lanegan is set to return to Australia once again for a stunning trio of headline shows which will see him showcase some new classics and old favourites to an always-keen Aussie crowd.
Kicking off at Melbourne’s Croxton Bandroom on September 15th, Lanegan is set to travel north to Brisbane, before finishing up in Sydney on September 18th. Tickets to all shows go on sale at 9am on Thursday, June 21st through Secret Sounds, with a pre-sale beginning 24 hours earlier.
With a vast and storied musical history, Mark Lanegan is undoubtedly one of the most acclaimed and versatile artists in the rock genre. Don’t miss your chance to see a living legend in the flesh when he comes our way this September.
