Gang Of Youths are heading on tour with the Foo Fighters
Dave Grohl’s burgeoning love of Gang Of Youths is becoming a not so hidden fact. The band are set to play the Foo Fighters’ enormous Cali Jam festival this October and, considering Gang Of Youths have taken the US by storm over the last year, wooing crowds at SXSW, playing coveted late night TV shows and touring relentlessly, it’s easy to see how they’ve captured the hearts of the nation.
As much as we want to cherish GOY as our own national treasure, they’re just too much of a phenomenon to keep to ourselves.
Announced this morning via the band’s Twitter, it was revealed that they’ll be joining the Foo Fighters as a support act on the US run of their Concrete And Gold tour this October. Gang Of Youths will join the Fooies for seven dates as they conquer some of the biggest venues they’ve ever played.
According to Consequence Of Sound, other support acts for the tour include Dinosaur Jr., Speedy Ortiz, Melkbelly, and The Joy Formidable.

We have to admit, it’d be pretty epic to see Dave Le’aupepe join Dave Grohl in a heartfelt sing-a-long of ‘Big Me’ or see the band jump on stage for a mass jam of ‘Everlong’. Hey, anything can happen, it is a Foo Fighters show.
Gang Of Youths are heading on a massive Australian tour later this year, in which they’ve sold out a five-night run in their hometown of Sydney. Prior to that the band will be playing, what we can assume will be one of the must-see sets of the weekend at this year’s Splendour In The Grass festival.
