Check out Ryan Adams awkwardly presenting the weather on US TV
Ryan Adams might be considered a brilliant singer and songwriter, but it turns out he’s been hiding a secret talent from us all these years, with TV weatherman now looking like a good career move if this whole music thing never takes off.
Hitting up Denver7 News on Wednesday afternoon in the US state of Colorado, Ryan Adams stopped by to fulfill what he described as a lifelong dream.
As The Denver Channel notes, fellow musician and Denver7 News anchor Shannon Ogden reportedly reached out to Ryan Adams on Twitter, only to be told that he had written the channel their own song. Soon, it was organised that the musician would be a guest on the nightly news before his show at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre the next day.
Ogden soon found himself introducing Ryan Adams onto the program on Wednesday night, noting that he had “wrote and recorded a song for Denver 7 in exchange for us letting him fulfil a dream and do the weather on the news.”
“I was sitting there, three cats, hanging out at my house, and next thing you know I’m on the news,” Adams explained, noting that his lifelong dream to present the weather came after watching the movie Twister. “It’s unbelievable.”

The hosts soon showed Adams’ song, titled ‘Denver7 (Piece Of Heaven)’, which contained lyrics such as “Can you let me do the weather one time? I’ll wear my Batman shirt, I’ll wear my flannel. I’ll stand in front of that green screen and try to remember all the towns I just seen.” Before long though, Adams was put in charge of alerting local Denverites what the forecast was going to be.
The resulting broadcast was certainly awkward, with Ryan Adams expressing his amazement at the surreal nature of the situation, showing his confusion at how green screen technology works, and alerting viewers how heavy the wind was going to be.
Lyrics to his song ‘Dirty Rain’ were also shown on the screen, though due to the nature of green screen technology, Adams was unable to see them and chose to gaze on in wonder at what he was witnessing.
While we don’t see him hanging up the guitar for a stint as a meteorologist anytime soon, we certainly wouldn’t complain if he was the one telling us the nightly forecast.
