Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite have announced Splendour sideshows

The Splendour In The Grass sideshows are clearly not done being announced yet, with blues-rock dream team Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite today setting a few dates on which Aussie fans who can’t make it up to Byron Bay will be able to catch them live.

With more than 75 years of experience in the music industry between them, Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite have been spending the last couple of years as one of the most influential pairings in the world of blues-rock.

Having first teamed up in 2013 to record the album Get Up!, their collaborations have been critically-acclaimed the world over, with the album winning them the Grammy Award for Best Blues Album in 2014. Following on from this success, Harper and Musselwhite released their latest album, No Mercy in This Land, earlier this year.

“Charlie Musselwhite is that very rare and hallowed place where blues past, present and future collide,” Harper said of his collaborator. “He transforms notes into emotions that feel both hauntingly familiar and brand new, as if hearing them for the first time every time.”

Likewise, Musselwhite echoed the sentiment, noting “I think it is safe to say that Ben has reinvented the Blues in a great way: playing modern while preserving the feel.”

With the duo already on their way to Australia later this year for the incredible Splendour In The Grass festival, they’ve also managed to find some extra time to bring their awesome live show to audiences all around the country.

Kicking off on July 11th, the duo set to bring their five-piece band to Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, and Sydney over the next eleven days, with their Splendour appearance taking place on Saturday, July 21st.

Tickets to these shows are set to go on sale at 1pm on Friday, May 11th, with a Live Nation pre-sale kicking off at 12 noon on Thursday, May 10th.
