Apparently parents are paying $20 an hour for ‘Fortnite’ tutors

According to Wall Street Journal, parents are taking their children to Fortnite coaches to improve their chances of securing a Battle Royale win.

These parents are forking out up to 20 USD an hour to train their kids. According to these parents, some children are feeling immense pressure to succeed in the game. Ally Hicks from Winchester, who paid a coach $50 to train her 10-year-old son for four hours has stated “There’s pressure not to just play it but to be really good at it, you can imagine what that was like for him at school.”

I mean, we’re living in a world where universities are handing out gaming scholarships. Digital Trends reports that Ashfield University in Ohio has expanded its esports scholarship program to include Fortnite.  The scholarship will knock several thousand dollars off the schools’ undergraduate program.

Last month, objects from the game started showing up in real life, read more about it here.

Fortnite is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and iOS.
