5 Seconds of Summer release new album ‘Youngblood’

It’s finally here! 5 Seconds Of Summer’s highly anticipated third record Youngblood is finally out in the world for your listening pleasure.

The album is a departure from their first two records, in all aspects. At first listen, it doesn’t appear to be a 5 Seconds of Summer record. Their first two albums were heavily pop-punk influenced, filled with powerful snare fills, guitar riffs and catchy choruses. Youngblood is a lot less guitar-heavy, focusing more on synth and electronic drum sounds across the 16-track LP.

Entering adulthood in front of the entire world, and finding their feet within the cutthroat music industry at the same time, has undoubtedly contributed to their change in sound. The band took an extended break from the band after touring the world extensively for the latter part of their adolescence. They have achieved an incredible amount in their time as a band, especially considering they are only releasing their third studio album today.

Title track, Youngblood, has sat at #1 on the the ARIA charts for three consecutive weeks as of the album release date. They are the first Australian band to hold the #1 spot on the singles chart since The Veronicas in 2016.

Basically, the album rules and you should most definitely check it out.
