Create and print your own stencil designs on t-shirts, bags and canvas in this fun 1 day workshop with experienced artist and printmaker Micaela Christie.

Learn about contemporary street art techniques that go beyond stencil art on canvas or walls. Get inspired by street artists and graphic designers to create your own unique stencils.

You'll have fun experimenting with different stencilling techniques, exploring pattern, geometry and abstraction. Get hands-on to cut, print and layer your designs on paper, fabric, card and canvas.

Throughout the day you'll create different designs to make a variety of art pieces. You'll can also print a t-shirt, other clothes and a calico tote bag to produce your own street art inspired gear!

Students will also have the opportunity to print their stencil designs on a collaborative art piece that will exhibited during the National Youth Week art exhibition in April 2017.

All materials including a calico tote bag are provided, but students will need to bring their own t-shirts (or clothing items) to print on.

Suitable for students 12-17 years old
Maximum 10 students
Bring: Lunch, morning and afternoon tea, a water bottle and your own t-shirt or clothing that you want to print on
Wear: Old clothes
