Do you love the amazing animated and interactive projections as part of Sydney's VIVID Festival?

Join animation wizard Craig Bunker (aka Bunkwaa) for an exciting 2 day introduction to basic projection mapping techniques and learn how the exciting visuals that illuminate our city during VIVID are created.

This exciting process uses everyday video projectors to illuminate three dimensional surfaces such as buildings and objects, turning them into animated displays. Projection mapping is an amazing way to unite digital animations and sculptural mediums to create moving images that interact with the environment.

In our fully equipped Mac studio, you'll learn how to create a short animation sequence in Photoshop that will interact with a 3D projection surface. Suitable for new or returning students, this 2 day workshop allows scope for a longer and more detailed animation sequences.

Tutor: Craig Bunker
Craig is the uncanny Bunkwaa. A beloved Street Artist, desirable alien and light-bearer of laughter. His iconic style of art is ubiquitous in the inner west streetscapes of Sydney & Adelaide. For Bunkwaa, placing his art in different environments is about reacting and responding to what is around us, making the familiar unfamiliar. Plus, the extra elbow room is fantastic for an artist who creates a copious amount of art. As for the unearthly characters and creatures he creates, they are believed to be entities that live hidden in the folds of this dimension; feeding off the energy that flows from human emotions and desires.
