URBAN SPREAD featuring DEAD LETTER CIRCUS with Special Guests Caligulas Horse, Jericco & Gatherer (Plaza Tavern)
URBAN SPREAD ANNOUNCES DEAD LETTER CIRCUS
SUMMER SERIES PRESENTED BY TRANSPORT ACCIDENT COMMISSION
With Caligula's Horse, Jericco, Gatherer, Sydonia and Alithia
Kicking off their epic SUMMER SERIES a couple of weeks ago with The Rubens, URBAN SPREAD are already back with a monster lineup for the SUMMER SERIES December edition, headlined by one of the most beloved bands of the Australian modern rock era Dead Letter Circus.
In a spectacularly heavy lineup, handpicked by Dead Letter Circus, Caligula's Horse will support their Brisbane buddies on all three URBAN SPREAD SUMMER SERIES shows, with Jericco and Gatherer appearing only on Thu 10 Dec at the Plaza Tavern and Fri 11 Dec at Chelsea Heights; and Sydonia and Alithia joining the Brisbane brethren for the last brutal show at the Village Green.
Dead Letter Circus stand as one of the great Australian bands, unaffected by trends and resolute in delivering epically sculpted, anti-typical rock. With a handful of classic releases and literally thousands of global touring miles to their name, Dead Letter Circus have cemented themselves as a staple of both the stage and the airwaves since making their artistic mark over a decade ago. Their third album Aesthesis was just released, debuting at #2 on the ARIA Album Charts, their third album to do so, proving once again that they're at the top of their game.
Channelling the raw honesty of rock and the skill of progressive metal into a seamless voice at once energetic, grand and forthright, and joining them for the shows, are Dead Letter Circus' Brisbane mates, Caligula's Horse are gearing up to release their most vivid, and emotional work to date - third album Bloom, due out Oct 16.
Playing with Dead Letter Circus and Caligula's Horse on the first and second shows is one of Australia's most unique bands, given its propensity for strong Middle-Eastern flourishes, Jericco. Creating a sound of immense and dynamic power that simply must be experienced in the flesh, Jericco's newly released second album Machine Made the Animal debuted on the iTunes Rock Charts at #3 and #12 on the AIR Charts, spawning sold out shows across the country.
Melbourne-via-Wellington beast Gatherers, having just dropped their album Heavy Hail, are used to playing monster shows, as evidenced by previous gigs with ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, La Dispute And The Getaway Plan. These guys round out the huge lineups for Plaza Tavern and Chelsea Heights with serious clout.
A seriously exclusive show on Sat 12 Dec at Village Green sees Sydonia in support of the Brissie bros Dead Letter Circus and Caligula's Horse. Fresh from a tour with their Jericco buddies, Sydonia have toured relentlessly in the past 18 months in support of second album Reality Kicks, as well as making a name for themselves supporting Trivium, Lamb of God, Korn, Machine Head, and Slipknot.
They're joined by AlithiA, Melbourne's purveyor of astral space rock renowned worldwide by both critics and fans alike for their hypnotic live shows and debut record To the Edge of Time.
