Grammy Award-winning UK songwriter and producer William Phillips, better known as TOURIST today announces Melbourne and Sydney tour dates for July this year. This announcement follows his recently confirmed appearances at the Princess Theatre in Brisbane for Open Season and Illuminate Adelaide at Hindley St Music Hall. TOURIST will kick off his Australian tour at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on 26 July before heading to Sydney’s Metro Theatre on 27 July.

William Phillips is a multi-talented musician and producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry including Christine and the Queens, Churches, Deftones, Wolf Alice, Swedish House Mafia & The Weeknd to name a few. In 2015, he won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year, as a co-writer for Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’. “It’s an absurd compliment,” he says, “but my intention has only been to write music and work with great musicians.” Since then, Phillips has released four albums as Tourist – 2016’s ‘U’, 2019’s ‘Wild’ and ‘Everyday’ – and several solo EPs. Though it came from grief, his latest album ‘Inside Out’ released in May last year is tender and uplifting, with kaleidoscopic fragments of garage grooves and French filter house.

After performing at Coachella and Glastonbury festival, opening for Bonobo on his Outlier North American tour and selling out venues like Village Underground, Tourist is preparing a new solo live show blending analogue and digital elements and live visuals that will make his life-long dream come true: to feel everything with everyone, all at once, through dance music.
