Prolific WA folk duo, The Broken Pokers, like you’ve never seen them before.
Derrick and Ben have carved out their path in the local Perth pub and party scene over the last 8 years but can you believe that there’s more to these blaggards than that?!
Blending their love of traditional Irish ballads and tunes, and Australian folk classics, the boys have wowed audiences from Cunderdin to Cahersiveen. You can expect to hear many of your folk favourites, alongside some rarer musical gems that wouldn’t ordinarily get aired in your typical rowdy drinking hole.
Guitar, bouzouki, banjo, mandolin, tin whistle and more will accompany two strong vocals in a high energy performance, a muscular sound that belies the expectations of a mere duo, with deep and broad musical influences, all wrapped up in a fun and humorous sensibility.
All this makes for a unique and memorable experience that has to be seen to be believed.
