Has Australia got it all wrong? New ways to fund the arts and artists

InReview and Light are joining forces to present a series of provocative forums on the future of the arts in South Australia, beginning with the key question of funding. Join our expert panel at The Lab for a discussion of all the issues, from the basic artists’ wage being applied in some European countries to the rise of philanthropically supported programs to the vexed relationship between government, festivals and individual artists.

As the pandemic continues to damage performing opportunities for artists and the commercial proposition of venues and producers, can we find a better way to fund artists and arts companies?

InReview’s David Washington will unpack the issues with an expert panel including philanthropist Nick Dunstone, Vitalstatistix director Emma Webb and UniSA professor of cultural economy Justin O’Connor.

There will be plenty of time for questions from the audience and the event will be recorded by InReview for release as a podcast.

We’ve put together a package so that you can make a night out of it! Your $85 ticket includes entry to the two-hour forum followed by a two course dinner package at award winning Aurora restaurant where you can unpack the session whilst indulging in the flavours of our seasonal menu.

Don’t miss our first series in this exciting collaboration!
