After eight years, Hobart’s Cyber-NoiseCore trio SMUG ANIME FACE are calling it quits. From humble beginnings at little bands, to regular support slots for some of the heaviest touring bands including Rotten Sound, Full Of Hell, Onanizer, Hexis. 4 DIY releases including their debut LP [PACHI] out on Hobart’s Psychedelic Salad Records, Over the top amplifier worship floor shows, literally mashing a hot pink piano, a couple of mainland tours and generally being noisey bois. Come and celebrate the time that was SMUG ANIME FACE and get on down to this epically stacked final show featuring their favourite acts / friends they have made along the way and releasing their final and first limited release cassette—aptly titled FUCK OFF AND DIE!—at ALTAR BAR on Saturday 21 Nov.

Joining Smug Anime Face will be 3 of Naarm/Melbournes loudest most punishingly violent acts.

TONGUE DISSOLVER: are a blistering NoRave anarcho punk/tech trio who will tear apart any dance floor with weaponised synths/samplers/drums/screams. No holds barred, they will absolutely rip.

DIPLOID: bring a cacophony of grind, noise, black metal and hardcore punk to the forefront of our dystopian reality. The result of this experimentation is the darkest, oppressive, emotional, and yet beautiful sound to come out of Naarm.

ESP MAYHEM: play all synth, no guitar, future shock-grindcore that will elevate your being to the harshest depths of your psyche. Literally the fastest monophonic grindcore band in the world and their first time visiting Lutruwita/Hobart.

Joining this already massive lineup are local Tech death legends COMPULSIVE GEOPHAGIA who have been gaining a ridiculous amount of momentum and melting faces across the state. And Smug’s personally favourite Hobart screamo noise act OAF who have been blowing minds and melting hearts with every transformation.

+ special guest live projection by artist GLASOON who will be transforming Altar Bar into a violent gritty dreamscape to carry you along while having all your sensors destroyed.
