Redspencer's rescheduled album launch at the Brunswick Ballroom, Saturday 19th February with Roller One and Powerful Owl.

Redspencer bio:

Songwriter David McMillan and his younger brother/guitarist Aiden hail from the little rural northern NSW town of Glen Innes. Their parents homeschooled them (six kids in total) while running a small Pentecostal style church. Music was encouraged and neighbours were constantly annoyed. Naturally, The church band became a place to learn song structure and cut their live performance teeth in a not so rock’n’roll way. This formed the foundation of what would later become Redspencer, not before moving to the Gold Coast and playing in various surf rock and roots bands.

Finally arriving in Melbourne in 2013, a series of singles garnered a small but devoted following allowing them to get involved locally. 2015 saw the group harness a sound more polished/realised on their debut self titled EP. One year later, the debut album - ‘Perks’ carried on this tradition, receiving praise both locally and internationally.

“Far exceeding the expectations that one tends to set in regards to a debut album, song after song from Perks yields fully realised results that continue to reward repeated listens.” SOUNDLAB

“Their inherent knack for switchback Laurel Canyon chord changes and wind instrument flourishes is but one starting point from which they draw their insightful, era-crossing stylistic connections.” PopMatters

David took a break from the band shortly after the album to pursue drumming in other local projects such as Dag, Caroline No, and Dodda Rivka while slowly writing the second album - ‘Dreamworld’, released in 2021 on Dinkum Records.
