2018 has been a mysteriously still year for Adelaide group Bjear - no shows, no new music, no word on anything.
Behind the scenes however, founder, curator, and seasonal hermit Brae McKee has been labouring amidst a sabbatical, working tirelessly in his home studio to create new music, video, and art.
The fruit of this solitude will culminate in September with 'Pilgrimage' - a three night showcase in Adelaide that will see Bj ar explore what it means to perform and create something special; not only for a sleepy city notorious for its cagey attitude towards anything new or different, but a global music scene hungry for innovation and difference.
Three separate venues, three alternate lineups, three reworked set lists, across three consecutive nights. Each evening has been carefully curated to represent a different
stage of the Pilgrimage, with every creative detail - music, video, food, and art - considered for both its showcasing of local talent, and ultimate place in the narrative.
The first single of the Pilgrimage journey - 'All Roads Lead To You' scheduled for release on June 29.
