The Murmuration Orchestra features Paul Macleod a singer songwriter with a love of the Outback and its wildlife.

What happens when you put together some of Adelaide's most exciting musicians with Australia's most beautiful bird photography?  You get Murmurations, a musical and visual feast.   It is an imagined quest into the outback for the million-bird flock.  The word 'murmuration' was originally coined to describe the shape-shifting mega-flocks of starlings such as those seen over Rome in Italy.   It has been adopted to describe the even bigger flocks of budgeriagars that town over the red sands of Central Australia.   Murmurations are described as 'collective intelligence'.   They are democratic organisations with no individual leaders that help each other ward off predators and find scarce water supplies.    People who have witnessed them describe the noise and rush of wind that occurs as they pass overhead.   Visually they morph into many shapes like dark and fast-moving clouds.

The Murmuration Orchestra features Paul Macleod a singer songwriter with a love of the Outback and its wildlife. Paul formed the band Holler and the Bones with Andy Czora (guitars) and Eddie Pollard (drums in 2016.   They went on to win the Adelaide Roots and Blues Associations' Memphis Blues Challenge in 2019 and represented South Australia at the 2020 International Blues Challenge.   Now they are teaming up with bass player Michael Winer, Perrin J Walker, a violinist and guitarist with a heavenly voice, and straight from Trinidad, the soulful virtuosity of Jr Sugarfingers Linton on Guitar.  Ngarrindjeri man and fellow Bone Gilly Gollan is back with the boys on percussion.  Together they make The Murmuration Orchestra.
