LEISURE - TWISTER ALBUM TOUR - ROCKET BAR & ROOFTOP
New Zealand Soulwave collective LEISURE, have announced their eagerly anticipated sophomore album TWISTER along with a huge Australian nationwide tour.
“It’s been something like 900 days since we released our debut album. Admittedly we had no idea what we were making, or how we were making it, the only certainty was that the combination of the creative energies when we were all in a room was a feeling none of us had felt before…” said LEISURE.
Made up of five independently talented and successful members LEISURE are on anomaly in the music industry. With an unrestricted clash of modern and retro sound explorations and their over-riding manifesto to keep things LEISURE. Their debut self-titled album was critically acclaimed and has amassed over 65 million streams to date.
“We make our favourite things when we become creatively unconscious. Our sophomore album was a good opportunity for us to explore new ideas, we took turns as the album took shape to fall in love with each song and the process of how each one was made. Landing with an eclectic collection of 14 songs ; each swirling with their own mood and colour we are very proud to share with the world TWISTER.”.
LEISURE fans have been given a speed date of the sophomore album with infectious earworm singles like “Easy Way Out” and new single “On My Mind”, but TWISTER will bend and break the boundaries between electronic, funk and soul, spawning LEISURE’s signature golden groove beat unlike ever before.
Slow burners, face-slappers, shoegazers, strut-steppers and midnight moodmakers unite on the living room floor for TWISTER.
TWISTER is set for release July 26th and will be supported by shows in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
