Don't miss this opportunity to see one of Australia's great singer-songwriters performing at the Meeniyan Town Hall. Better known as the voice and front man for legendary Sydney roots band The Flood, CMAA Gold Guitar winner in 2006 (with The Flood for Best Group) and 2011 (with Kasey Chambers for Vocal Collaboration) also Aria Nominee for 2006, KB writes relevant, contemporary Australian music containing elements of Blues, Rock and Country - telling stories of where he's from and where he might be going. He sings his life. Having served his apprenticeship in rock bands - Moving Pictures, The Honeymoon and Chasin The Train, KB began The Flood as a vehicle for his own songs. Kevin Bennett ploughs the same fields as Don Walker, The Dingoes and Paul Kelly with an 'Australian-ness' that flows naturally through the songs. KB has performed at the Byron Bay Bluesfest, The Dreaming Festival, Gympie Muster, Narooma Blues Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival and is a regular at Tamworth Country Music Festival.

His songs "Paul Kelly's Blues" and "2003" were nominated for APRA Song of the Year and Song of the Year at The Golden Guitar Awards respectively. Another of Kevin's songs "Hello Blue Sky" recorded by The Flood reached the number one spot on the Country Music Chart. In 2005 KB discovered that he had Aboriginal heritage and he was from the Kamilaroi tribe of Northern New South Wales and has joined the Baradine Land Council (his birthplace).

Since then he has been involved in several Indigenous Songwriting / Musical Skills and Mentoring projects with Tamworth Regional Council, APRA, The Country Music Academy and lately has been visiting various schools in NSW participating in musical workshops and promoting the 'Thumbs Up' campaign, highlighting the benefits of healthy food with the Jimmy Little Foundation. In 2008 he was invited to appear at The Dreaming Festival with The Flood and in 2011 was asked to be an indigenous ambassador for Apra (Australian Performing Rights Association). With The Flood he has recorded 4 universally acclaimed albums and Kevin has just released "KB Live", a 'live in the studio' collection of fans' faves, featuring songs from every album which will be available at gigs.

Special guests for the night are one of Victoria's leading lights of the alt-country and blues genre, 'The Distance'. Having just released their third studio album 'The Hour is Long', The Distance are back playing live after a short hiatus. The Distance have performed numerous times at the Tamworth CMF, Deni Ute Muster and recorded a song with Australian Crawl front man James Reyne. The Distance have supported Kevin Bennett on previous trips to Victoria and are proud to once again share the stage with KB for what will be an amazing night of music.
