GROOVES ON A GRASSY KNOLL 2018

Bringing you our biggest and best lineup yet in our home of joy and bliss, this night is set to be one of the craziest of the year. Showcasing rising and risen stars in the Australian music scene, this is event will certainly kick off the best start to your semester. Against the historic sandstone shadows of St John's College we welcome:

******RUNNING TOUCH******
Running Touch is the mysterious artist from Melbourne that has grown from an industry whisper to one of the most esteemed new acts to hit the electronic music circuit in recent times anexceptional producer, live performer, songwriter, singer, and key studio member of Australian Hardcore band 'Ocean Grove'. A forward-thinking, visionary more than just a musician alone, the Running Touch project is a seasonal, starry-eyed, sky-gazing progression into experimentalism that brings a new concept of electronic music that incorporatestesting, contentious tactics and an in-depth twist on reality into music. The Running Touch project is a middle-grounded insertion into a body of alias', fluently rocking back and forth between experimental electronica, indie-pop and indie-electronic sounds. With his creations formed through far-flung influence and instrumental prowess, Running Touch transitions seamlessly between genres, aliases and art forms proving himself as an 'artist' in every sense of the word. If you are a fan of art, you will most certainly be a fan of Running Touch.

******PACES******
If paradise has a soundtrack, PACES is curating it. Hailing from the shining Gold Coast, this dad and dog lover PACES - real name Mikey Perry - cloaks everything he does in happiness and explosive colour. Blurring the line between club and pop music, PACES' music reflects his lifestyle - colourful and fun. It's forward thinking dance music that excites from start to finish.That electricity translates to PACES' live performances as well. He's earned himself a name for his wild live shows which incorporate dancers, light-up inflatable animals, confetti cannons, hypercolour visuals and the added bonus of guest vocalists. He's also earned himself a name for discovering great artists to sing or rap on his tracks, helping them cross over into the mainstream. The likes of Tkay Maidza, Jess Kent, NYNE and Ku ka all found early success on PACES beats. His work is not without its acclaim either, having won InTheMix's prestigious 'Breakthrough Artist Of The Year' award in 2016 with his debut album Vacation. On top of all that, his performance on Triple J's Like A Version with Australian music icon, Guy Sebastian, is one of the most popular LAV's in history. PACES' entire career has been beaming since the very beginning and it continues to radiate, with soaring chords and earth-shattering drops. Wearing a huge grin on his face and pouring out that creative magic, PACES is taking the world on one massive holiday!

******TOM BUDIN******
Hailing from Sydney, Australia, 22-year-old Tom Budin is no doubt about to set big waves in the Australian and international dance music scene. In the 10 years Tom has been producing he has achieved a sizable global following, racked up millions of plays & downloads and has signed tracks to Ultra Music, Heldeep, Armada, Interscope and more. Tom's newest single X With U featuring Luciana has allowed him to shake down the international music scene and showcase his unique production skills soaring to number 1 on the Billboard dance charts (US). Tom has officially remixed songs for a number of artists including Britney Spears, Mashd N' Kutcher, Timmy Trumpet, Joel Fletcher and Offaiah and was chosen as the winning contestant for both The Bloody Beetroots "The Beat" remix competition as well as the Zedd "Clarity" remix competition at only 16 years old. Tom sets the bar high with a sound that is all about connecting with the listeners through high-energy release, uplifting melodies, a fat low end that makes the floor shake.
