Grapes of Mirth is coming to the Adelaide Hills!

Five of Australia’s best comedians and your host Merrick Watts will make their way to Howard Vineyard for 6 hours of comedy, music, wine, gourmet grub and the most amazing festival vibes.

$5 from each ticket sold will go towards those affected by the Adelaide Hills bushfires, with further fundraising to take place at the event.

RHYS NICHOLSON - Comedian. Writer. Craft Enthusiast. Razor-sharp, daring and downright lascivious, Rhys Nicholson is a wit quickly gaining international acclaim. Nominated for an Aria Award for Best Comedy Album, twice nominated for The Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Show and in 2018 he won the New Zealand Comedy Festival Best Show award. In 2019 Rhys made his USA television debut with a stand-up spot on the Conan O'Brien Show.

STEPH TISDELL - After cutting her teeth in the UK and winning the Deadly Funny National Grand Final in 2014, Steph has been collecting awards and accolades wherever she goes (including being nominated for the illustrious Best Newcomer Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival) and building an impressive TV, radio and print credit list most recently having appeared on ABC’s 'Comedy Up Late' and 'Tonightly'. Steph is a proud Indigenous woman and is making a fast rise as one of Australia’s funniest comedians.

HEATH FRANKLIN'S 'CHOPPER' - As 'Chopper', Heath Franklin is an Australian cultural and comedy icon. With his own TV show, four live comedy specials, 2 ARIA nominations, 1 Logie nomination and over 500,000 tickets sold worldwide, Chopper has nearly done it all. The man behind the tatts and 'stache, Heath Franklin, is an Australian actor, comedic performer, improviser and writer.

BRETT BLAKE - Self-identifying bogan genius Brett Blake is a whip-smart, high-spirited stand up who has performed widely across Australia and the UK. A regular sell-out at the Melbourne International Comedy and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, Brett also starred on 'Common Sense' for Network 10, has a hand in Melbourne’s Comedy at Coopers Inn, is a regular visitor to 'The Little Dum Dum Club' and shares the reins on 'Worst First Dates' podcast with Kelly Fastuca.

JUSTIN HAMILTON - Over the course of the last 15 years, Justin has won awards for his solo stand up comedy shows including the Director’s Choice Award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. In 2011, The Arts Monthly announced that Justin was the Comedian of the Decade. In 2019 Justin won Best Comedy at the Adelaide Fringe Festival for the play Three Dances for John Tilt Animus which Justin wrote, directed and starred.

MERRICK WATTS - The "Merric" from Merrick and Rosso. Mez, as he is affectionately known, has worked at almost every radio and TV station in the country. He also appears regularly on 'Studio 10' where he often ruins their infomercials and cooking segments. Mez loves wine, he also loves writing about himself in the 3rd person!

Grapes of Mirth provides the ultimate festival day with five headline comedy sets, a host with the most, and some sweet DJ tunes (brought to you by the one and only, DJ PEDRO MOSHMAN!) to keep you entertained before, between, and after the comedy has ended.

This is an 18+ event, because there are comedians involved, and well, because there are comedians involved.

Seating

Howard Vineyard's beautiful grounds will be set up with areas to accommodate picnic blankets, low and high back foldable chairs. Please BYO picnic rugs and BYO foldable chairs, to make yourself nice and comfortable for the day. The lower you are to the ground, the closer to the stage you'll be. Empty soft cooler bags and water bottles are also permitted (please no eskys). Bag checks will be conducted upon entry for prohibited items.

Buses

If you have purchased bus tickets for transportation to and from Howard Vineyard, please note pick up and drop off times below. 

Departs: 11:00am sharp - Bus Stop D - North Terrace (out the front of the Intercontinental Hotel)

Arrive: 11:45am Howard Vineyard

Depart: 6:10pm Howard Vineyard

Arrive: 6:55pm North Terrace, Adelaide
