Friendly Fires return with their highly anticipated album Pala, set for release on 13 May 2011 via XLRemote Control.

After the mammoth success of their previous Australian tours, including memorable performances at Splendour In The Grass (2009) and the recent Good Vibrations Festival, we are proud to announce Friendly Fires 2011 headline tour Returning to Australia this July, UK trio Friendly Fires will be bringing their energetic, irresistibly punchy live performance back to our shores -this time armed with brand new grooves from their just released brilliant sophomore album Pala Supported by triple j, Video Hits and Channel [V], Friendly Fires will be playing the Metro Theatre in Sydney July 28th and Billboard in Melbourne on July 29th. Friendly Fires will also be performing at this years Splendour In The Grass Festival. Its been 3 years in the making but Pala is worth the wait, destined to build on the success of Friendly Fires eponymous debut album in 2008 (which earned the band a Mercury Prize award nomination and two Brit Awards nominations) Pala was produced by Friendly Fires themselves alongside award winning producer Paul Epworth. Named after the island in Aldous Huxleys 1962 novel Island, Pala was recorded in London, St. Albans, Rye in Sussex, Yvetot in France, and New York. Pala features the single Live Those Days Tonight and guest appearances by The Harlem Gospel Choir and Holy Ghosts Alex Frankel. Pala was the featured Album Of The Week on triple j, Radar Radio and the WA FM and Red FM networks. Friendly Fires Pala is out now XL Recordings/Remote Control Records. Friendly Fires will also be performing at the Splendour In The Grass Festival
