Event Details

Singer, songwriter, radio and TV personality Ella Hooper has announced a national tour to celebrate her single, ‘Low High’, which is set appear on her forthcoming debut solo album, In Tongues.

. The tour will kick start in Daylesford at the Chill Out Festival on 9th March before Ella and her band head to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Gold Coast.

Produced & recorded by Jan Skubizewski (Owl Eyes, Illy, Way Of The Eagle), 'Low High' is an exciting return for the Melbourne performer and Spicks and Specks team captain, combining Ella's sweet yet smouldering vocals over a soundscape of spiky pop, earthy rhythms and a hypnotic beat. There's an air of mystique surrounding the smoky, whiskey-filled tale, as Ella sings of the wavering 'low highs' with a sense of beckoning intrigue and off beat charm.

Ella has been at the forefront of the Australian music scene for close to 15 years. After exploding onto the airwaves at the tender age of 16 and winning multiple ARIA awards with her iconic rock group Killing Heidi, the singer made the progression to radio with ease. She was soon hailed by the industry, winning the Best Newcomer at the 2012 Australian Commercial Radio Awards.

Currently the co-host of 'The Aus Top 20' radio show, Ella has also recently be announced as team captain on the 2014 return of Australia's favourite music quiz show, Spicks & Specks, which premiered this month on ABC to acclaim.

Ella says, "It's been an incredible year for me already and I'm over the moon about the many new elements of my career taking flight, but a tour and album release is what I've been waiting for to satiate the frontwoman in me and show you all what I've been up to!"

The tour will see Ella perform material off her debut solo album, In Tongues - a collection of intimate tales that encompasses themes of metamorphosis, obsession and black humour - all to be unveiled in 2014.

Don't miss this chance to catch Ella on stage and in her element.
