A.R.I.A. award winning bassist Gavin Shoesmith presents his original compositions in an intimate setting, The Duke of George as part of Original Sundays Sun 30th Jan.

Each performance from The G.S.T is unique in its approach and delivery. Using collective and individual improvisation the trio create a truly hypnotic performance experience. Inspired by the masters of old Monk, Miles and Mingus yet, true to the modern sounds Gavin grew up with, the trio swings and grooves.

Gavin’s original compositions explore the realms of `Open Jazz’. Interweaving rhythms and melody to create a layering of sounds and textures that evoke mood and colour reminiscent of an artist's brush stroke on canvas. The strength of Shoesmith’s compositions reveal the hidden beauty of a balance achieved through simple complexity.
