DOV1 (Muti Music)

Dov1 has often been comfortable to be working in the shadows, but his influence filters our through the music on his labels. As a producer his sounds are rooted in heavy bass and a blending digital and organic textures. He does not have restrictions of one type of Bass music, due to the fact he has journeyed through many incarnations of Bass music as the genres arise, often pioneering the genres on his label, Muti Music. In his role as founder and owner of Muti Music, and the other labels he has / does play roles in; Medicine, Producer Dojo, Cyberset, Earthdance, EyePhunk and Fuel Records, he has helped define the sounds coming out of the US west coast, often serving a as bridge for cross continental influences and collaborations to happen.

His ‘Clipping Paths’ compilations series has served as a launch pad for emerging sounds, the original compilation led to a ground-breaking evolution in west coast bass music sound. Dov1 has rocked dance floors alongside many luminaries of Dance culture including Diplo, Bassnectar, Opiuo, ill.Gates, Gasslamp Killer, Excision, Eprom, Tipper, Freq Nasty, Zeds Dead, TRUTH, Clozee to name a few. His diversity has also allowed him to hold it down in unusual situations like opening for Ferry Corsten, Boy George or Shpongle and even playing alongside and jamming with Shafqat Ali Khan. Dov1 also produces under the name DnA with An-ten-nae, and has also produced collaborative tunes with ill.Gates, HNGVR, Hooves and Funk Monsta.

CRY TUFF and HARLEQUIN MC

Cry Tuff arrived in North Queensland from the UK in 2008 with his massive vinyl collection in tow. Since then he has mashed up plenty of dances with his bass-heavy reggae, dancehall, breaks and jungle selections. For Contrabass, the London-born DJ will be serving up classic cuts of 90s jungle and drum n bass, with a heavy focus on jump up, liquid and tech step.

He will be teaming up with Harlequin MC, a veteran of the mic, and a breaks and bass specialist. In the game for more than 15 years, he's hyped the dance everywhere from bars and clubs to festivals and raves. Expect fun lyrics that add spice to the groove, melodic complements, and probably a little double time madness.

This match up is not to be missed - you won't hear anything like it in Townsville.

ELBOW

Dj / Producer / Groove Mechanic, Elbow hovers low-end frequencies like no other. Massaging transmissions from playful, to paint peeling heavy; expect this dudes invitation to the halftime and whomp bass moshpit covered in glitter and a sweet scent of cinnamon!

2017 saw Elbow turn to production with his debut Ep spending its release week comfortably at #2 on the dubstep and glitch hop release chart and the Shaids Ep reaching #7. Regular festival slots and supports over the last 10 years have seen him landing sets at Splendour In The Grass, Subsonic, Earth Frequency, Island Vibe, Wide Open Space and a NZ festival tour.

With a diverse taste and a skill for genre bending its not hard to see why Elbow has become a dance floor name worth keeping an ear out for!

MATTSHROOM

Formerly known as the Backwards Man, Mattshroom is no stranger to FNQ's club and festival scene, being a staple on the bill as most events throughout the region. Psychedelic and experimental bass music is his forte, with his sets bringing an eclectic mix of styles and sounds to the dance floor.
