Comedy in the Vines is a new two-day festival from revered wine and comedy event producers Grapes of Mirth.

Saturday 11 November & Sunday 12 November, 2023

Hide & Seek Winery, Nagambie Lakes, VIC

With the support of the Victorian government's Regional Events Fund, Comedy in the Vines will feature regional Australia's biggest ever comedy line-up as well as great local produce, and incredible wines.

Russell Kane will be gracing the main stage, and Amercian comedian and podcaster Gareth Reynolds rounds out the international headliners.

An extraordinary lineup of Australian talent will also make the short trip to Nagambie, including Tommy Little, Celia Pacquola, Dave Hughes, Luke McGregor, Rhys Nicholson, Dilruk Jayasinha, Harley Breen, Geraldine Hickey, Tom Ballard, Merrick Watts, Lizzy Hoo, Sam Taunton, Susie Youssef, Bron Lewis, Dane Simpson, and Prue Blake.

Just past the Hide and Seek vines and over a causeway, nestled in amongst the lilypads of the Goulburn Weir is the Comedy in the Vines island, big enough for two large outdoor stages, a Big Wine Tent, a Rosé and Relaxation Station, a World of Wine, and a host of local gourmet food providers including pitmaster and president of the Australasian Barbecue Alliance Adam Roberts who is bringing his unparalleled barbecue knowledge to present an incredible food demonstration.

The Nagambie Lakes wine region is host to some titans and icons of the Australian wine industry as well as some smaller producers making awesome wine that we can't wait to drink with you. Some of the wineries partnering with us include Mitchelton Wines, Fowles, Tahbilk, Box Grove Wines, and Wines by Sam.

The festival will also host live podcast recordings on the LilyPod stage, including the hit Double J podcast Bang On hosted by Myf Warhurst and Zan Rowe, a special live performance from KIIS FM hosts Will & Woody, The Becky and Cam Hotline, from comedians Becky Lucas and Cameron James who will also be performing on the main stage, and a first ever live recording of Picture Discuss hosted by Merrick Watts. The LilyPode stage will be hosted by the inimitable Tine Del Twist the winner of the 2023 Comic's Choice award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Other highlights of the festival include not your average cooking demo from Nat's What I Reckon, a unique wine presentation from Mike Bennie, the wine and drinks editor describes by Sam Neill as "a cross between Michael Broadbent and John Belushi", and a less educational wine show from Ethan Cavanagh and Sweeney Preston.

Cocoloco (UK)  will also be roving around the isla d in their own world which has been likened to Alice in Wonderland meeting The Shining with a sprinkle of Dali and David Lynch thrown in for good measure.

Grapes of Mirth resident DJ will provide the tunes and the afterparty on the main stage.
