Today, Clearly Music, Arts & Wellness Festival announces the official launch of Clearer Workshop, an integral part of its annual festival designed to provide aspiring musicians, performers, songwriters, rappers, producers, and DJs with invaluable industry knowledge and artist development advice. The workshops will take place on November 10, 2023, at Kiama Pavilion, offering attendees a unique opportunity to evolve their artistry and amplify their projects.
At the heart of the Clearer Workshop is a conference and collaborative learning experience that will bring together industry leaders and artists from across the country, including a keynote speech by Peter Garrett (Frontman of Midnight Oil and Former Federal Government Minister) and panel discussions featuring Michael Chugg (Chugg Music), Poppy Reid (Editor of Rolling Stone Australia), Ash McGregor and Kaylie Ekinci (triple j), and Chris Sheppard and Steph Mrmacoski (Untitled Group) to name just a few.
The dynamic workshop series showcases a wide range of industry expertise and insight and will include thought-provoking panel discussions, invaluable industry intel, immersive marketing masterclasses, and comprehensive guidance from digital service providers, management professionals, agents, promoters, event operations specialists, social media experts, artists and other industry leaders. Additionally, attendees will also have the chance to participate in sustainability, mental health and meditation workshops.
The Clearer Workshop is designed to create clearer pathways to success for Australia’s next generation of creatives who have faced various challenges, including bushfires, floods, and the COVID-19 pandemic. By offering skills development, mindfulness sessions, and personalised one-on-one sessions, the workshops aim to demystify the sector and equip participants with the necessary tools to thrive in the music industry.
In a joint statement, Clearly and Clearer founder Dom Furber and founder of Be Here Nowra and the Baseline Happiness Project, Barron Hanson, share their intentions: "The Clearer workshops will provide emerging artists with a unique opportunity to gain industry insights, build valuable networks, and develop the skills needed to succeed in their careers. Through this exciting initiative, we are committed to supporting the growth of aspiring artists and fostering a sense of wellbeing and strength within the creative community."
Furthermore, Clearly Music, Arts & Wellness Festival is excited to announce the launch of its Clearer Workshop scholarships program. As part of the festival's commitment to inclusivity and diversity, ten scholarships will be awarded to regionally-based artists, with a dedicated percentage of spots reserved for local minority groups. “We believe in nurturing talent and providing equal opportunities for artists from all backgrounds," said Clearer co-founder Dom Furber. "By offering these mentorship scholarships, we aim to support emerging artists on their journey towards success while fostering an environment of inclusivity and diversity within the Workshop."
Applications and scholarships for emerging artists to participate in the Clearer Workshop are now open via the festival's official website here.
The Clearer Workshop will be followed by the Clearly Music, Arts & Wellness Festival, which will take place on November 11, 2023, at the showgrounds in Kiama. All attendees from the workshop will have the opportunity to perform as part of their Clearer graduation at The Pavilion and then attend the festival the next day.
Tickets are free and will be announced soon. For more information and to apply, head to the Clearly Music, Arts & Wellness Festival website.
