August Auzins takes Bootleggers to celebrate their new single “This Is Your Dream”. August Auzins emerged from the ashes of Sydney post-punk outfit City Rose. Armed with an unapologetic alter ego, he began releasing a series of story-driven songs that delved into his own history of hypocrisy, betrayal, pretension, and unrequited love. The sound oscillates between huge and delicate with ethereal walls of sound to frozen moments of suspension. Sonically inspired by European acts like Marching Church, Jungstotter, Black Country New Road but also finding direction and inspiration in the tradition of the singer-songwriter - Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and contemporary acts like Angel Olsen, Julia Jacklin and Big Thief.
