A Tribute to Cannonball Adderley - The Pete Jeavons Sextet
Born on Sep 15th 1928, alto saxophonist Julian ‘Cannonball’ Adderley is one of the giants of Jazz. His music, infused with a natural lyricism, grooves hard and oozes soul. The Pete Jeavons Sextet, featuring Marc Osborne on alto saxophone, will pay tribute to Cannonball and his music at The Duke of George on Thursday 15th September; on what would have been Cannonball’s 94th birthday, had his life and career not been cut short at the young age of 46. It is incredible to realise that Cannonball’s legacy was all created in a touring and recording career that lasted only 20 years. This tribute will feature music composed and/or made famous by Cannonball across the many different periods of his career, performed by a group of Perth's finest jazz musicians.
Pete Jeavons - Double Bass/MD
Marc Osborne - Alto Saxophone
Ricki Malet - Trumpet
Sean Little - Tenor & Soprano Sax
