Australian producers rarely come more accomplished than Jan Skubiszewski. Throughout his career, Jan has worked with some of our country’s most prolific music acts, including Dan Sultan, John Butler Trio, ILLY, Ella Hooper, Phrase, Owl Eyes, The Cat Empire and Daniel Merriweather.

The talented Melbournian's credits also include award-winning movies, acclaimed television productions and memorable advertising campaigns. Having written the score for Bran Nue Dae, the hit film starring Geoffrey Rush and Jessica Mauboy, Jan's compositions have captivated audiences around the world.

While the acts and genres may vary, Jan's signature hit-making style remains consistent. His songwriting partnership, as one half of Jackson Jackson (with Harry James Angus) led to an ARIA nomination for The Cat Empire's 2007 album The Fire Is On The Bird. Beginning in 2013, Jan's solo project 'Way Of The Eagle' has already churned out such hits as Rattlesnake (featuring Dan Sultan) which quickly entered the Top 10 Most Played tracks on triple j that year.

On 11th March 2014, Jan released Shadows, featuring Harry James Angus. The second single retained the prominent and bombastic brass section featured on Rattlesnake, as well as popular rotation on triple j for several months. Later that year, Jan toured his Way of The Eagle project around the country, to crowds in Melbourne, Byron Bay, Sydney, Brisbane (including its annual festival and conference, Big Sound), Perth, Adelaide and Launceston.

And there's plenty more in store this year, in the form of new album Kodo - a journey through pop, roots, electro, dance, hip-hop and beyond. The project features some old friends, as well as some new, including Bobby Saint, Benji Lewis, ILLY, Samm T and Seth Jones. Current single Sweet Addiction is a clear affirmation of Jan's trademark sound; prominent horns, punchy drums and a crooning guitar that showcases his skills in creating fresh and powerful music. The funk-rock track also presents Jan's innate talent to reference classic sounds, while still ensuring his musical scope remains open to all genres and welcomes previously unseen ingenuity.

While his creativity with Way of the Eagle engages a fresh perspective, Jan continues to support emerging artists develop their EPs (such as The Pierce Brothers, who recently signed to Warner Music Australia), while also producing for industry stalwarts. His diverse and talented skills continually ensure him as one of the busiest producers, songwriters, musicians and composers in Australia.
