The Trouble With Templeton are excited to share their beautiful new video, and announce an exclusive farewell show before heading off to the UK & Europe for a few months, to celebrate the release of their album “Rookie” through seminal indie label Bella Union in the Northern Hemisphere. Going to radio last week in the UK, the new single ‘Soldiers’ was immediately picked up by BBC Radio 6 including a spin on the respected Steve Lamaq show. The video for "Soldiers" was shot in their hometown of Brisbane, and is once again directed by Josh Calder, but this time also co-directed by his brother and Templeton frontman, Thomas Calder. "The making of the video for "Soldiers" was an absolutely incredible experience,” said Thomas Calder. “It's one of the most conceptually dense and patient of all our videos, and that's something I find really exciting. We made a conscious effort not to push anything on the viewer or make it obvious what you should be concentrating on. We're hope the audience finds something different with each new viewing. We're very excited to share it with everyone!" In celebration of their latest single ‘Soldiers’ The Trouble with Templeton are heading out on tour with a string of support shows through April with Irish band Kodaline, culminating in a farewell headline show announced today at the iconic Old Museum in their hometown Brisbane. The Trouble With Templeton have also just been announced on the line-up for The Great Escape, May 2014. Further details of their UK/Europe tour will be announced soon. The band’s announcement of their signing to Bella Union follows a huge 18 months for the band that saw them release "Rookie" to rave reviews across Australia, tour extensively here plus 40 dates across the US and UK (sharing the stage with the likes of Of Monsters & Men, Father John Misty, Julia Stone and Jake Bugg), play Harvest, Falls, SxSW, CMJ, and Canadian Music Week, win a Queensland Music Award and achieve iTunes Single Of The Week for "Six Months in A Cast". Thomas also won an APRA PDA Songwriting Award and came 3rd in the International Songwriting Competition, they cracked Top 10 of both Triple J Airplay and the AIR Radio Chart for "Six Months In A Cast" and "Like A Kid", released a single through Communion in the UK, signed with Frank Riley at High Road Touring in the US (Ryan Adams, Wilco, The Temper Trap), and were one of only three SxSW bands last year featured on US NBC Talk Show "Last Call With Carson Daly".
