Acclaimed local duo The Audreys return to the fore of the Australian music scene this year, with the release of a brand new studio album, ‘Til My Tears Roll Away’, on March 14.

‘Til My Tears Roll Away’ sees The Audreys once again join forces with producer Shane O’Mara, who has worked on each of the band’s previous ARIA Award-winning albums; ‘Between Last Night And Us’ (2006), ‘When The Flood Comes’ (2008) and ‘Sometimes The Stars’ (2010).

The bulk of the album was recorded over a few days at Adelaide’s Mixmasters studio on an old SSL desk that classic bands like INXS and Midnight Oil recorded with back in the day. The result is a stunning collection of songs. With front-woman Taasha Coates on vocals and keys, Tristan Goodall on guitars and their regular band filling out the line-up, this is earthier and grittier than the band’s previous releases, covering themes of heartbreak and hope without wandering too far from the gutter.

The album’s first single ‘My Darlin’ Girl’ will be released digitally in late-January.

“This track started as a sleazy guitar riff”, says Tristan. “It has a goofy prog-rock inspired key change that I'm happy to say is an Audreys first, and a general hard-rockin', hard-drinkin' vibe”.

Having achieved 3 x ARIA Awards in the Best Blues & Roots category, along with an ARIA Top 20 album debut for 2008’s ‘When The Flood Comes’, a nod in that year’s Rolling Stone Top 50 Albums of the Year, along with multiple international tours, a performance at SXSW in Austin, Texas and an appearance at last year’s BigSound music conference, The Audreys are without doubt one of Australia’s most accomplished folk-rock outfits.

The Music describes the band’s 2013 BigSound performance: "Where before The Audreys waded happily along the more tender shores of ‘roots’ music (being rewarded handsomely for their efforts), tonight they strip off and step up to face off with whomever is slinging shit, and they win, a prize fighter of a band, deciding vigour is the better path to follow, their guitar scuzz their new watchword, down and dirty, Taasha Coates as sultry as is possible to be as her boys rumble and tear behind her, groaning, droning, jabs and stabs of electricity that feed the emotion they’ve always had in spades, but now it has balls and an attitude. Not that it was shy and retiring before, but now it’ll steal your woman, drain your schooner, pick your pocket and leave you for dead."

The Audreys will tour ‘Til My Tears Roll Away’ in May/June - Dates to be announced soon.

Known for their graceful, impassioned live performances and ramshackle impromptu covers, as well as their playful banter and disarming charm, The Audreys are a live act second to none. - See more at: www.theaudreys.com.au
