Beloved Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae pioneer Stranger Cole returns to Melbourne backed by local legends, The Moonhops

STRANGER COLE (Jamaica) & THE MOONHOPS

UP CLOSE TOUR

with special guests JOHNNY LONGSHOT and DJs MOHAIR SLIM (PBS), JESSE I (PBS) and FEZ PUSKAS

His name may be "Stranger" but he's no stranger to the city that has been his second home since his visit in 2010 at the invitation of the Melbourne Ska Orchestra.

The beloved Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae pioneer returns to Melbourne in November for two intimate shows at Bar 303 (Saturday 11 November) and the Reggae Cruise (Saturday 18 November).

Despite a large cult following and the potential to play much larger venues, Stranger Cole has deliberately chosen to do just two boutique shows - giving his "Melbourne family" (as he calls them), a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see and hear Jamaican music royalty up close and personal.

PBS FM musicologist Mohair Slim has curated a special set list that that will see Stranger Cole perform his biggest hits (Bangarang, Artibella, Rough and Tough etc.) but also some wonderful ska, rocksteady and reggae rarities that he has never sung on stage anywhere in the world.

Providing the backing on the night is beloved Melbourne all-star aggregation, The Moonhops replete with full horn section and guests.

Setting the mood for the night will be local favourites, Johnny Longshot while PBS FM DJ Mohair Slim plays original Jamaican vinyl between sets.

Only 150 tickets available.  Do not wait.
