Acclaimed singer-songwriter to tour Australia for the very first time... "Paul is one of my favorite artists. Talk about somebody with a powerful live performance. He’s funny, he’s funky, he’s sexy, he’s witty, and he’s a great songwriter. He’s the perfect double bill for me. I love the energy. I figure he’s gonna grease the pan for me." - Bonnie Raitt

Paul Thorn has created an innovative and impressive career, pleasing crowds with his muscular brand of roots music - bluesy, rocking and thoroughly Southern American, yet also speaking universal truths. The Tupelo, Mississippi native worked in a furniture factory, jumped out of airplanes, and was a professional boxer (having fought in a bout against former world champion Robert Duran) before sharing his experiences with the world as a singer-songwriter.

Among those who value originality, inspiration, eccentricity, and character - as well as talent that hovers somewhere on the outskirts of genius, the story of Paul Thorn is a great one. Thorn reveals his fascinating personal history on the album 'Pimps & Preachers', addressing that subject on the title cut and in the intriguing "family portrait" he painted for the cover - which highlights his father the preacher and his uncle the pimp.

Paul Thorn has opened for artists ranging from Mark Knopfler to Sting, appeared on major US television shows Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel Live, received numerous US National Public Radio features, and charted on the Billboard Top 100. Now, he is ready to take on Australia - and the Aussies are gonna love him!

Pimps & Preachers will be released by Planet/MGM on 07 June.
