Caribbean Sydney Presents - The official state qualifier for the 2017 Australian Dancehall King & Queen competition.

Who will reign in 2017?

Dancehall, a major component of Jamaican musical and cultural life, started in the "dance halls" of Jamaica, where popular Jamaican recordings were played by local sound systems.

Out of the dancehalls of Jamaica and across to the shores of Australia; the time has come for the best dancehall dancers in NSW to showcase their skills and compete for the title of "NSW Dancehall Queen or King".

Dancers will be competing for the opportunity to represent NSW in the National finals in Melbourne and chance to win a further $1000.00 towards flights to Jamaica.

Supported by the best dancehall DJs and selectas across the state, and showcases from some of NSW's best dance crews, this night will be packed with pure Jamaican dancehall vibez.

This competition will see all styles of Jamaican dancehall showcased. From old school to new school, sexy tricks or badman style; competitors will be leaving it all on stage!
