Marcus Whale is a musician and performer working on Gadigal land. As a performer, he is a member of duo Collarbones and trio BV, as well as work under his own name, releasing an album "Inland Sea" in June 2016. Primarily forming an electronic world around his singing, the songs across these projects play out dramas of desire and projection while disfiguring forms of pop, club and contemporary classical music.
Lupa J is the creative project of Sydney based producer and songwriter Imogen Jones. Inspired by artists such as Grimes (who she has supported live) Arca and Nine Inch Nails she sees her work as multi-dimensional, extending creative control from all elements of her production to her music videos & artwork. Jones is outspoken on issues of gender and femininity and these themes are often explored in her music & film. A long form collection of tracks is being planned for 2018.
Autosuggest is the brooding electronic project from Sydney's Alec Mallia. Following his EP 'Murmur' last year, 2018 sees the release of the house-tinged single 'Chasing' alongside a decadent visual collaboration with director Thom Muir. 2018 sees his live act return, playing new material in the lead up to his debut album.
Swelling ambient textures alongside creeping rhythms, Flower Boy paints delicate and emotional images with her sound. With an upcoming EP due very very soon, she is sure to impress this year as her sound expands.
