'Sights and Sounds' is the much-anticipated debut album by Sydney indie four piece, Made in Japan. BUY A TICKET + ALBUM COMBO FOR JUST $17+BF.

The album is the culmination of a years toiling, culling and polishing material. Made in Japans sound has been compared to early 90s British bands like Ride, Slowdive and the Stone Roses although the band members cite more contemporary influences, such as Foals and Bombay Bicycle Club.

Made in Japan have already received plenty of media attention with heavy national airplay and the Sydney Morning Herald naming them one of Australias next Big Things in 2010 with writer Rachel Olding stating that "were not the only ones lapping up their catchy pop ideas, hardened guitar riffs and vocals". Whatever your take, Sights and Sounds is a richly layered and atmospheric yet-accessible album, characterised by the warped and swirling guitars of Jono Graham and Tom Davis, the precise rhythmic drive of Andrew Knox, and the intimate and melodic vocals of James Cooney.

The four young men from Sydneys Inner-West will be kicking off a launch tour at Sydneys Oxford Art Factory on February 25 before heading to Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and Brisbane to show the rest of the country. Fans can expect to see Made in Japan in peak form, having spent most of 2011 recording and performing live in some of Sydneys favourite small venues.

After working with producer Paul Woody Annison (Children Collide, Red Riders) on their breakthrough single 'Oxford Dcor', choosing a producer for Sights and Sounds was an easy decision. "Woody just gets us," says guitarist Davis. "He knows what were trying to achieve and how were meant to sound. His input on the songs has helped them to reach their full potential."

If Made in Japans steady progress in the last couple of years is anything to go by, the band will be a regular feature on festival bills around the country in no time.
